Little Tennessee Valley Educational Cooperative (LTVEC), with 50 years experience serving Tennessee, is looking to hire full-time, part-time, and interim Speech-Language Pathologist with a Certificate of Clinical Competence (SLP-CCC) and a TN Health License to provide school-based therapy services in the Lenoir City, TN for the remainder of 23-24 school year. Job Summary: Under the supervision of the School Services Director, LTVEC Speech Therapists are responsible for providing speech and language services to students in our contracted systems.

General Duties:

Performs assessments.

Provides speech therapy for specified students.

Completes IEP goals and attends meetings.

Works with teachers and school staff to provide best possible care.

Works closely with school services director.

Communicates effectively with parents, teachers, and LTVEC team.

Builds a relationship with students to promote a safe and welcoming environment.

Completes required training.

Notates therapy services and plan of care.

Specific Job Responsibilities:

Completes screenings and evaluations on students referred for speech services.

Provides care to children with intellectual and developmental delays/disabilities to promote physical, emotional, and social growth.

Performs ongoing individualized, detailed, and documented assessments of students known, or suspected of having, physical therapy needs, utilizing evaluative tools and skills unique to physical therapists.

Participates in the process of creating therapy goals and objectives.

Reviews and implements each student’s IEP goals and objectives.

Plans and prepares written treatment program for each student.

Provides quarterly written progress reports.

Functions as an active participant as a member of the transdisciplinary team.

Maintains appropriate student records.

Educates and assists student’s family in providing follow-up care as necessary.

Attends staff conferences and confers with other team members and consultants.

Communicates with parents in writing as needed.

Supervises the maintenance of classroom and other program equipment to maintain safe operating condition.

Protects students from injury, accident, harm or unnecessary discomfort or illness.

Reports and records all unusual events involving a student’s safety, training, and general development.

Maintains good public relations with family members, co-workers, and school staff members.

Continues professional development by attending workshops and training.

Takes detailed notes of services and enters them into Relay.

Educates teachers and families on speech disorders and therapy services.

Minimum Requirements:

Master’s Degree

ASHA Certification

Health License to practice

Excellent relationship building and communication skills

Preferred Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
