Founded in 1971, Little Tennessee Valley Educational Cooperative (LTVEC) is a public nonprofit agency formed by local school systems in East Tennessee. The agency is governed by a board of directors including member school system directors, school board members, and county commissioners. Little TN Valley promotes collaboration among member school systems to develop needed educational services in the region. The cooperative provides a variety of services to member and non-member school systems in East Tennessee and throughout the state.

LTVEC is looking for a Registered Behavior Therapist to join our team! We offer competitive pay, State of Tennessee Health Insurance, State of Tennessee Retirement Plan, and a School Schedule!

The RBT will collect data through direct observation, conduct interviews and indirect assessments, and support and train school staff to implement behavior intervention plans developed by the BCBA. The Behavior Support Program operates within LTVEC’s School Support Services and serves multiple school districts in the East Tennessee area. The ideal candidate will have solid communication skills, the ability to work independently in a variety of settings and have openness to feedback. The RBT should be organized and self-sufficient to successfully perform in this role. The RBT will also have the opportunity to accumulate supervised fieldwork hours towards BCBA certification.

Responsibilities:

Maintain caseload of school-based clients, all under the supervision of BCBA.

Collect data and information needed for a functional behavior assessment.

Implement and monitor behavior intervention plans and strategies.

Provide consultation and training for parents, teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers (e.g., OT/PT/SLP), as appropriate and under supervision of BCBA.

Collaborate with other treatment team members and members of the child’s education environment regarding progress through IEP team meetings, record review, and informal discussions as appropriate, with parent authorization to obtain/release information.

Ensure compliance with medical record documentation protocols. Ensure that progress notes are entered into the medical/educational records on a timely basis and in accordance with established organizational procedures.

Participate in education and training programs for children, families, schools, or community groups.

Requirements:

Current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician preferred.

Will consider experience in special education, early intervention, or other fields closely related to behavior. Must be willing to complete RBT training and certification.

Experience working with children with a variety of developmental disorders and disabilities is preferred.

Daily travel to schools is required. Mileage reimbursement provided.

Two years of experience preferred.

Experience working in public schools helpful, but not required.
