Adaptable Toys and Assistive Technology Devices

We accept donated toys that we can adapt in order to make them accessible. Kids with disabilities often cannot use toys as they were originally designed. For example, a child with cerebral palsy may not be able to reach their arm out and push a small button with one finger on an electronic toy. Not being able to play with toys like all the other children can negatively impact their motor skill development, their social development,. and their overall quality of life. However, when a toy is adapted so that an alternate method can be used to activate the toy, the child is able to play just like anyone else! All of our adapted toys and assistive technology devices are either given or loaned to local children with disabilities or their schools. Please contact our AT Center at at.center@ltvec.org if you have any questions.
