Tennessee Educational Cooperative (TEC) is a public nonprofit agency formed by local school systems in East Tennessee. The agency is governed by a board of directors including member school system directors, school board members, and county commissioners. TEC promotes collaboration among member school systems to develop and provide needed educational services in the region as well as the state. The cooperative provides a variety of services to member and non-member school systems in East Tennessee and throughout the state.

Our extended learning director, Jana Hackworth, recently took an additional position as an extended learning mentor for the TN Department of Education.
This full day workshop will offer practical solutions to foster increases in positive behaviors and decreases in problem behaviors. This session will begin by exploring how to apply these strategies to everyday situations in an applicable and proactive way. This approach will focus on the changing outcomes of behaviors by looking at the entire context and approaching behavior from a function based perspective. Audience members will learn how to conduct a thorough Functional Behavior Assessment, select appropriate and function-based strategies, and analyze data to determine growth and next steps. This workshop highlights ready-to-use interventions and real-life scenarios. The concepts can be applied to a wide range of environments.

Little TN Valley has an AT Center, which provides assistive technology to kids so that they can communicate and participate in school and in society — that includes not only ways to learn and work, but ways to play too! Just like the tag line in the commercial, "When Everybody plays, we all win."
Tennessee Representatives Kent Calfee and Lowell Russell joined Little Tennessee Valley Educational Cooperative (LTVEC) in honoring our educators when we hosted our annual Awards Banquet for exceptional local educators.
Two deserving educators from Loudon County Schools were honored with the Exemplary Educator Recognition Award for Dedication to Excellence in Education: Lana Costner, Loudon High School Special Education Paraprofessional and Julia Bunch, Loudon County Schools Central Office Special Education Administrative Assistant.
